After a Valve Support email suggested the start date of the Steam Summer Sale, many rushed out to their local GameStops or Best Buys to purchase funds for their Stream wallet. The rest counted down the hours until today's official start of the Steam Summer Getaway Sale.
Today's first deals start with notable titles such as BioShock Infinite and Left 4 Dead 2. For some smaller games, Steam users can purchase Scribblenauts: Unlimited and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger.
As the daily 24 hour deals wind down, you can also purchase Flash Sales like Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Grid 2. To select a specific game and see its price slashed, you can vote in the Community's Choice poll to either currently discount Dishonored, Borderlands 2 or Far Cry 3.
For further incentive to purchase some games, you will also receive some Steam Trading Cards with select Steam games. With the Trading Cards, people can trade, collect and sell cards to get rewards like Steam Medals or discounts on games.
The Steam Summer Getaway sale will take place today through July 22nd.
