Dontnod Entertainment, the studio behind episodic adventure titles Life is Strange and Vampyr, alongside publisher Focus Home Interactive, recently reached an agreement with FOX21 TV studios to adapt Vampyr into a TV series.
FOX21 TV studios, in collaboration with Wonderland Sound and Vision and DJ2 Entertainment, will reportedly hire McG as the show’s director and executive producer. McG is known for his work on Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Terminator Salvation, Supernatural, Shadowhunters, Behind Enemy Lines and several other significant work.
Dontnod CEO Oskar Guilbert expressed his excitement to adapt the studio’s most recent work, Vampyr, into a TV series. He continued to praise the talented team over at FOX21 studios.
We believe it is a fantastic premise for a television show. This is a new and exciting way for fans of the game, as well as the uninitiated, to enter and engage with VAMPYR’S rich, deep story. We cannot wait to see how the talented team at FOX21 will bring out the darkly atmospheric universe of our game into television.
CEO of Focus Home Interactive Jurgen Goeldner discussed Vampyr’s “uniquely dark, immersive world,” and it’s “deep narration.” Goeldner is excited to bring the title and the studio’s work to a wider audience than just video games.
We are delighted to partner with FOX21 for the adaptation of VAMPYR into a TV series. DONTNOD has created a uniquely dark, immersive world with deep narration, which has made VAMPYR already a modern video game classic. We cannot wait to see FOX21 bring all of their talent and experience in launching a TV show that will allow an even wider audience to discover the fantastic universe of VAMPYR.
Vampyr’s latest update added two new modes, hard and story mode, to suit all playstyles.
