Bossa Studios, the creator of Surgeon Simulator 2013, has denied that a recently discovered Easter egg in the game is a teaser for Half-Life 3.
Earlier this week Valve released a 3.7 GB update for Half-Life 2 which caused some players' games to run in Korean, they then tweeted, also in Korean, to "Prepare for unexpected results". Following this, players discovered an Easter egg in the Team Fortress 2 update for Surgeon Simulator 2013 which read, when translated, read "The time is…"
One of the very first lines in the original Half-Life is "The time is 8:47 a.m". While Valve have clarified that the Half-Life 2 update simply added some language packs to the game many believed the Korean messages teased that the long-awaited sequel was set for an imminent announcement.
However, Bossa has quashed the speculation – at least so far as Surgeon Simulator goes – tweeting:
Half-Life 3 was recently rumoured to have been discovered in a Valve project tracker.
Do you think we'll see Half-Life 3 announced in the near future?
