EA Sports massive football franchise, FIFA, has finally acquired the UEFA license after Konami failed to renew it for their Pro Evolution Soccer series. Konami managed to hold on for the UEFA official competitions license for around nine years, first debiting in Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, and was perhaps the only major comparison between EA Sports’ FIFA and PES.
The studio showcased the new Champions League license with a trailer showcasing Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, the competition’s all-time leading goalscorer and record title-holder after Madrid managed to win their third title in a row, beating Liverpool. Other superstars and iconic moments were showcased, including Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, arguably the third best player in the world, Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar Jr and Ronaldo’s overhead kick against Juventus in the semi-finals. In addition to that, Alex Hunter’s career continues in The Journey: Champions.
