Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Ultimate Edition Hitting PC This Summer

June 5, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Konami’s action title is finally making its way to the PC.

If you haven’t played the original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow game that released in 2010, it’s worth a look. Not just because a sequel is making its way to the market in the near future, but due to the fact that it has one of the most shocking endings of this console generation. However, if you only enjoy games on your PC, you haven’t even had the opportunity to delve into this vampire-themed adventure up to this point. Thanks to Konami, that’s going to change very, very soon.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Ultimate Edition not only has two colons in its title, but it also includes all of the DLC that’s ever released for the action game. This will give players the opportunity to experience the highly disappointing Reverie and Resurrection DLC, which I suppose isn’t all that exciting since the two pieces of content do little to expand on the interesting story. Forget that part of the package, though. What’s most important is that the game will run at a smooth 60FPS and support “enhanced 1080p HD graphics.” Yes, this will be the best looking version of the game on the market.

The sequel to the game has been confirmed for PC, but don’t expect to see the hacking and slashing on the Wii U anytime soon. If you’re looking to jump into the sequel, I urge you to reach the end of the 2010 game in order to experience what really is a fascinating narrative. You’ll have the perfect chance to do that when Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Ultimate Edition releases through Steam on August 27.
