Saints Row 4 Box Art Released by Deep Silver

May 30, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Yes, it’s just as crazy as you’d think it’d be.

Not every bit of box art needs to be acknowledged, even if we’ve covered a few Xbox One products in order to give people an idea of what the future of games will look like. However, the work that’s being done by Deep Silver and Volition on Saints Row 4 might have just sold me on the game. The open-world madness is difficult to ignore on its own, but this fresh image of the game is the perfect artistic representation of just how crazy the franchise is.

Let’s not waste anyone’s time by trying to explain the box art. Here is it:

If you remember, Deep Silver revealed the cover for the Saints Row 4 Commander in Chief Edition last week, which showcased a much more tamed display of Steelport. Both versions will be launching right around the window of Grand Theft Auto 5, but Volition producer Jim Boone just doesn’t see this as too big an issue.

“The genre's matured enough where you can have all these different styles and still be an open world game and be different. So I look at GTA 5 and think there's this massive game coming out, but I don't think with our superpowers and alien invasions that no-one will be comparing us to them," Boone said.

We’ll just have to see how this battle of giants unfolds. If you’re looking to indulge in the silliest, most outlandish game of 2013, Saints Row 4 is set for release on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on August 20.
