Activision and Bungie have produced a live action commercial directed by Jon Favreau to promote their upcoming game, Destiny. The trailer stars Giancarlo Esposito, best known for his role as Gustavo Fring in Breaking Bad.
The 60-second spot revolves around the mythology of the game's futuristic world in which palyers take on the role of a Guardian and fight to defend the last safe city on a planet Earth destroyed by aliens.
Esposito plays the role of a father in the spot, which is named "Law of the Jungle", an homage to Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book".
According to the game's developers, Destiny is a sort of sci-fi fantasy retelling of Kipling novel, and is designed to play out like the chapters of a book.
Bungie states that in creating the spot, they want to explain how the world works and how it's more than just an ephemeral experience that you go through once and forget thereafter. More than that, it's a world that's designed to grip your emotions and stay with you for a long time after you've left it.
