During Nintendo's Nintendo Direct web cast, the company showcased an in-depth seven minute look at Pikmin 3, a game exclusive to the company's Wii U console.
According to Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata, players will be using the Wii U gamepad in a new way to control the three new characters in the game.
Alpha, Brittany, and Charlie are three astronauts trying to save their home planet by bringing food back to it. The three of them set out on their adventure in search of food which can be returned to their planet. During their adventure, they crash land and encounter a mysterious race known as Pikmin. With their help, they explore the planet together. Their mission is to collect food that can be used their new food resource, while exploring the planet, with the goal of bringing the seeds back to the planet—possible with the help of the Pikmin.
