Sometimes a game that is highly anticipated, at least to those within a very specific audience, comes out and has a number of issues that disappoints said fan base. But if said title is not some AAA release, there is a fear among its relatively modest user base may never get the fixes that are desired.
Zone of the Enders HD Collection and those who own it are perfect examples of this. The remastered games were plagued with frame rate issues, and it was somewhat of a given that they were never going to be fixed.
Perhaps due to the fact that it was published by Konami, which was also responsible for the abysmal Silent Hill HD Collection, with problems so that bad that publisher said they could not be fixed.
But, thankfully Kojima Productions is on the case. It's taken several months, but a patch is finally on the way for the PS3 version at least. Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions have poor frame rates, but it's especially bad on the Sony platform. Which is a tad bit ironic, given that the original games were on the PS2.
According to Destructoid, the patch will also be pre-backed in all upcoming retail versions. No word yet on the availability of the fix for existing owners, but it's assumed to be in the near future.
Now, the only question remains is if the patch will bring the PS3 version's frame rate up to the same level as the 360's version, or if it'll match the PS2 originals.
