90 Year Old Woman’s Reaction To The Oculus Rift Is Everything That Is Good About Video Games

April 18, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

If only we could all enjoy video games as much.

At this point we have covered the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset quite extensively. And you have no doubt heard that it's the future of gaming, and not just from us, but everyone else. Question: have you had enough yet?

The problem is, after hearing something said over and over again, it tends to get to become a bit tiresome after a while, and is eventually relegated to white noise. After-all, who wants to constantly hear how such and such is amazing if one is not able to access it, and won't be able to for the forseeable future?

And truth be told, due to the lighting fast pace of technology as a whole, it's incredibly easy to become complacent and jaded with everything. Though it does feel worse with video games; for example, the level of graphical fidelity (among other aspects) would have seemed inconceivable only a few years ago.

Yet people legitimately complain when the PS3 version of game X has slightly inferior shadows when compared to the Xbox 360 version. Boo hoo. We have all become spoiled children. Full disclosure: I am just as guilty as everyone else.

Anyhow, for those of us who need a good old-fashioned jolt of clarity, as well as another reminder of how legitimately amazing the Oculus Rift, as well as further evidence of how old people are indeed awesome, I present the following video. One that has been making the rounds, but is a must watch, even if it's for the second or third time:
