Netflix’s upcoming adaption of the eight-part novel series written by Andrzej Sapkowski has just hit a new milestone. Writer Lauren S. Hissrich has shared via Twitter that the script for the pilot episode of the show has just been completed.
“The Witcher pilot is out for notes, and I’m out for the weekend to spend some time with my kids,” Hissirch wrote. “See you bright and early on Monday!”
Hissrich has previously worked on other Netflix shows such as The Defenders and Daredevil, as well as the political TV show The West Wing. Hissrich will also serve as the series Executive producer, as well as the program’s showrunner.
“Andrzej Sapkowski has created a rich and memorable world, at once magical and familiar,” said Erik Barmack, Netflix Vice President, international series. “We couldn’t be more excited about bringing Netflix members around the world.” “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,” said Sapkowski. “I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.”
As of right now, there is no news who will be playing the mutated monster hunter, Geralt.
