You Can Now Learn All About Monster Hunter At A Community College

April 11, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

And who says community colleges aren’t like real schools?!

Tackling Monster Hunter is like taking on one of the many beasts found within the game itself: there's a lot one must be made aware of, otherwise one will not last very long. There's so much information to process in fact that schools could practically teach an entire class on the game.

And that's exactly what's happening. Capcom Unity reports that the Monster Hunter Community College will aim to enlighten both the curious and newcomers, as well as give players early access to DLC plus other prizes.

Is this some kind of online deal? Nope. It's a real thing; you will be sitting down in a classroom, with other live human beings, learning about the ins and outs of (presumably) Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U and 3DS.

Here's a bit more information:

We offer a strong curriculum of beginner and intermediate classes that will help you kickstart your hunting career, even if you've never played the game before. Our faculty to student ratio is also very favorable, and we're always ready to answer any questions you might have!

– In our beginner class, you will learn about movement, gathering and the basics of combat;
– Our intermediate class focuses on identifying monster patterns and put you in an actual hunting quest!

As noted, students will also gain early access to DLC Event Quests:

By coming to the April session of the Monster Hunter Community College you can walk away with up to 3 DLC Event Quests! These will eventually be released for download, but you can get a couple of weeks headstart on everyone else. The following list will be updated as we get closer to the event:

– Gigginox Buffet (High Rank) – hunt 2 or more Gigginox and deliver the Paw Pass Ticket
– Early DLC Event Quest 2
– Early DLC Event Quest 3

It is also mentioned that this only applies to 3DS players.

The Monster Hunter Community College takes place on April 20th, between 11am and 5pm. Registration is totally free.
