The second expansion pack for the Firaxis' Civilization V has been announced as Brave New World and looks set to significantly change how Culture and Diplomacy work within the game.
Brave New World will also add new nine leaders, eight additional wonders, and scenarios covering the American Civil War and colonial expansion into Africa for would-be empire builders. There will also be additional ideologies unlockable in the Industrial Era.
A World Congress, similar to the UN Security Council, will allow players to submit and vote upon resolutions to impose sanctions of rogue nations, as well as selecting a host for the 'World Games', placing a cap on resource usage, and putting limits on the use of nuclear weapons.
Players will be able to use the World Congress to win a Diplomatic Victory.
The expansion will also see a Culture Victory added to the game. To achieve a Culture victory gamers must spread their civilization's culture using Great Writers, Musicians and Artists by creating masterpieces. One of the new units Brave New World will unlock is the archaeologist who can explore ancient cities and battlefields for artefacts.
International trade routes will also be added to the game allowing players to sell their goods with other nations as well as within your own empire. Dispatching a trade caravan along these routes will also see an exchange of science, culture and religion.
Civilization V: Brave New World is due to be released this summer for $29.99.
