Minecraft 1.5 Update Goes Live

March 13, 2013 by Carli Velocci

New update features 120 changes, including new ways to play with Redstone.

Minecraft Redstone update

The long-awaited Minecraft 1.5 update finally went live today. Minecraft players can now rejoice.

The update will download next time players log into the game.

The main feature of the update involves the Redstone, and how it will interact and work. The update will apparently make it more "logical."

Other features of the update include the addition of a hopper, a dropper, an activator rail, the daylight sensor, and a block of Redstone. The game also has a new set of commands, and puts into place a lot of bug fixes. If you don't quite understand what any of those words mean, you can visit the Mojang website for more information, or you can watch the video below.

This update has been a long time coming. Details were announced back in Nov. 2012, and had a release date set for January.

However, there is even more news for hardcore Minecraft players. According to the Mojang website, the studio is currently developing a 1.5.1 update. The post promises that the company will snapshot it tomorrow, and then have it out as soon as possible.

However, if just listing out the changes is a little boring, you can also experience them… in song! Thanks Youtube.
