Rumored to be in development for several years now, 2K has finally put an end to its silence to announce the development of "The Darkness II", with Digital Extremes spearheading the game's design and production.
Players will reprise the role of the previous game's protagonist, Jackie Estacado in the new title. 2K says that the game will feature a "hand-painted graphic noir technique" for its visual direction to stay true to the graphic novel series that the games are based on. "The Darkness II" will have its story penned by British author Paul Jenkins, who also contributed to the comic book.
"The Darkness II" is slated for a Fall 2011 release on the Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC. Check out the first screenshot below.
