Rocket League Blasts Past 38 Millions Players

While yes, nearly every gamer knows of Rocket League’s popularity, not many know just how far the popularity goes. Via a year in review post on the game’s official website, Psyonix has announced that over 38 million players have joined in with the fun, playing over 2 billion matches.

“All of this growth has brought new challenges as well. Our CEO Dave Hagewood spoke back in March about recurring PsyNet database outages that made it hard to log in and play, and we’re happy to say those issues have been almost entirely resolved,” the post reads. “We’ve also added game servers in new regions like South Africa and Asia to improve the play experience for those players. There’s still work to be done, and two issues in particular will be a focus for us heading into 2018.”

Psyonix added that the team aims at focusing on server performance and game performance on Xbox One, alongside this, the team also stated at into the new year there will be more features and improvements headed to the game, including in-game tournaments and a revamp of the progression system.

Exciting progress from the team, I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings for the explosive sports title. Thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
