Donkey Kong Country Returns 3DS Compared To The Wii Original

February 28, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

And they look pretty much exactly alike!

When Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D was revealed a few weeks back, many were impressed by how close it looks to the Wii original. But how close is close, exactly? That's what GameXplain decided to find out.

They basically poured over the reveal trailer from the most recent Nintendo Direct and then reenacted every single bit in the Wii version. Which they then filmed, and place side by side with the upcoming 3DS port:

As you can see, other than the 3DS version sporting slightly less detailed texture for some background elements, they look practically identical. Quite impressive. And remember, the 3DS version has the benefit of being in three dimensions, plus portable, so it many people's books, it will end up being the superior version.

Perhaps the best part is knowing that future Wii to 3DS ports, if they were to happen, will yield similarly graphical results. So time to start your letter writing campaigns. Personally, I wouldn't mind having MadWorld on the go.
