You may recall the OST for action RPG NieR:Automata releasing this March on iTunes and Amazon amongst other outlets. In September, Japanese audiences were treated to limited edition vinyl recordings of composer Keiichi Okabe’s atmospheric score. It seems we’re about to receive some more audio goodness.
The Japanese Square Enix website has revealed the launch date for yet another NieR:Automata soundtrack which features unreleased tracks and new musical arrangements. Under Okabe’s supervision, the NieR: Automata Arranged & Unreleased Tracks benefits from the distinctive styles of several music arrangers.
It will consist of 20 tracks spread across two CDs, and include a cover illustration from Kazuyuki Koda, head of concept art for NieR:Automata. Apparently, the illustration is designed in such a way that it forms a complete picture when placed next to the cover illustration used in the NieR:Automata original OST released in March.
The soundtrack will officially be out on December 20. Those interested can pre-order it from the Square Enix e-Store, Amazon and the Sony Music Shop. It’s retailing for ¥ 2,800/$25 USD.
You can listen to some audio samples on Square Enix‘s website.
