Black Ops 2 Update Introduces Unlimited Trophy System Bug

February 21, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new bug has been introduced with the latest update of Black Ops 2.

Treyarch recently updated Black Ops 2 with a host of fixes intended to deal with gltches, bugs, and a host of matchmaking issues. Unfortunately, the patch appears to have come with a small side effect, which you can view in the video below.

The player in the video isn't hacking the game, nor is he exploiting anything—it's just that the newly introduced bug allows the Trophy System to intercept everything, including predator missiles, grenades, rockets, markers, and even an AC-130's 40mm and 105mm shots. Normally, the Trophy System will only intercept a few of the attacks, but the bug causes every single projectile to be intercepted, providing tens of thousands of points to the player.

According to the community, the bug's been around for awhile, but it's occurrence has increased ever since the latest update.

Let's hope Treyarch deals with this bug as quickly as they did with the Lodestar and Swarm bugs.
