Tribes: Ascend Game of the Year Edition

Hi-Rez Studios, the company behind Tribes: Ascend, the self-described "world's fastest shooter," has announced that a "Game of the Year Edition" will be available for PC users.

This is in response to the game's great year, where it racked up five editor's choice awards and Game of the Year Honors.

The edition–which will be available as a digital download– players can access over 100 weapons, all nine classes, and all 21 perks from all previous DLC packs.

The new edition will also have loads of new content, including six brand new maps, the new Shocklance weapon, and two cosmetic skins.

The free-to-play game, which was released in April 2012, received very positive reviews for its varied maps, fun gameplay, and reasonable learning curve. Plus it's free. Did we mention that already?

While the new edition will not be free, it will be available at a discounted price of $29.99 on Steam and $19.99 for existing VIP players on the game's website.
