Footage Of Ghosts ‘n Goblins Online Finally Surfaces

February 1, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

It’s just the like game you know and love, except not insanely difficult.

South Korea is the land of many things: Samsung, kimchee, Gangnam Style, to name a few. But here's another: MMOs based upon console games that most of are completely unaware of.

Well, that's a half-truth. Games like the Shenmu Online, Rockman Online, and Ghosts 'n Goblins Online make headlines when they're first announced. But most end up getting cancelled, and usually well after everyone has forgotten about them.

Yet not all, like the last cited example According to Destructoid, a closed beta for Ghosts 'n Goblins Online took place the other night, and someone was nice enough to capture footage:

Be sure to check the source for even more videos.

As one can see, it doesn't stray too far from the source material, at least visually speaking. It's still a 2D sidescroller in which you control a man (or woman) in armor who becomes semi-naked when a hit is taken.

Though one key difference is how it seems a whole lot easier than the source material. Which, for many, is actually a bit of a relief. No word has ever been given about a possible Western release. And sadly, it's a safe bet that none will ever happen.
