Could we get a little bit of the intergalactic action of Star Wars Battlefront 2 on Nintendo’s Hybrid console? There may be a slight chance.
Speaking to GameSpot this week, Motive Studios producer David Robillard said EA will consider a Switch version “if we see opportunities.”
“This is something we’ll explore if we see opportunities there, but it is not something that’s on the books right now,” Robillard explained. With Battlefront II launching for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in November, if a Switch version does happen we could expect it to launch after that date. What’s important to note is that Battlefront II runs on EA’s Frostbite engine, which hasn’t been used for any Switch games so far. What this means is that it will probably some time before EA manages to get the engine running smoothly before even bringing the game as a whole to the console.
