Star Wars Battlefront II Beta Sees A Huge Resolution Improvement On The PS4 Pro

October 9, 2017 by Jordan Coetsee

DICE pushes the resolution mark on the PS4 Pro.

With the Star Wars Battlefront II beta coming into its final stages, players across the globe have had a first chance to experience the game in their homes. If you are a PS4 pro player, however, there has been an extra bit of the game that you may not have known. The pre-alpha version of the first-person shooter was actually only being rendered at 1080p instead of dynamic or actual 4K resolution.

Now the beta has pushed the titles technical specifications to 2304×1296, using checkerboard rendering. The game uses downsampling when being rendered at 1080p.

The standard PS4 rendering is also pretty impressive, being rendered at a dynamic resolution ranging between 1600×900 and 1920×1080, which is actually slightly better than the 1280×720 to 1600×900 resolution on the base Xbox One version.

How have you found Star Wars Battlefront II so far? Enjoying it? Let us know in the comments below.

‘The prequels, original trilogy and new era meet in an expanded multiplayer experience and galactic-scale space combat. Play iconic heroes that bring distinct abilities to the battlefront – or join the fight in an emotionally-gripping single-player story.’
