Killer Instinct On Xbox One To Run at 4K/60FPS

September 25, 2017 by Jordan Coetsee

This will be the first fighting console game running at Native 4K.

Here’s yet another game that will be making optimal use of your upcomng Xbox One X hardware, Killer Instinct.

Originally released back in 2013 for the Xbox One, the title ran at 720p (which was later bumped up to 900p). Now it has been announced that the monster fighting title will be patched to run in native 4K and 60 frames per second on Microsoft’s superpowered console. As Digital Foundry points out, this makes it the very first console fighting game ever to run in native 4K.

While Killer Instinct isn’t the best looking fighting game out there, it’s still great to see that Microsoft is actively making sure that there will be a repository of titles supporting the Xbox One X’s capabilities during launch.

In other Microsoft news, today is the last day to pick up last week’s Deals With Gold. If you have some cash to spare, check out the list of titles on sale, here.

‘This week features deals on awesome FPS titles. Grab Overwatch for 35% off the original price. Battlefield 1 alongside its expansion pass has also been dropped by 30%. If you haven’t played it yet, Far Cry Primal has also been slashed, dropping the title’s original price down by 60%.’
