One Gamer Fund Forges Alliance Between Key Gaming Charities & Organisations

September 23, 2017 by Katrina Filippidis

All for one and one for all.

Newly established initiative One Gamer Fund is becoming the captain of a charity gaming guild that unites several distinguished and impactful organisations under one banner.

The objective of One Gamer Fund is to raise funds and share proceeds with the supported organisations. Like the seven sages in Ocarina of Time, seven different charities and organisations are coming together for the initiative:

  • AbleGamers
  • Child’s Play
  • Games for Change
  • Global Game Jam
  • IGDA Foundation
  • Stack-Up
  • Take This

There are several different ways to support the cause. You can donate directly to One Gamer Fund, check out Twitch where streamers raising money for OGF will be headlined on the front page, or buy a OGT themed t-shirt. There’s also a sweet indie deal going on Steam—for every Good Shepherd Entertainment Bundle purchased, 50% of the proceeds will go straight to One Gamer Fund.

Take This President Russ Pitts has praised the gaming community for its willingness to help those in need:

“Gamers are among the most generous humans on earth, raising millions of dollars a year for charity…One Gamer Fund is a logical and long-overdue next step in harnessing the bottomless heart of the gamer community. Seven charities combined into a Voltron of altruism. And we’re honored to be a part.”
