Jurassic Park is one of the most beloved and known franchises in movie history, and lately, it is getting its fair share of video game treatment. Jurassic World Evolution is the latest title announced based on the series.
Jurassic World Evolution is a building and management simulator, and was showcased during Microsoft’s Gamescom briefing and a press release. The title is being developed by Frontier Developments, mostly known for their work on Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster, so given their excellent record in developing building titles, we shouldn’t expect Jurassic World Evolution to be any less. Here is a brief description of the title:
Jurassic World Evolution evolves players’ relationship with the Jurassic World film franchise, placing them in control of operations on the legendary island of Isla Nublar and the surrounding islands of the Muertes Archipelago. Players will build their own Jurassic World as they bioengineer new dinosaur breeds and construct attractions, containment and research facilities. Every choice leads to a different path and spectacular challenges arise when ‘life finds a way.’
Frontier’s Chief Creative Officer Jonny Watts expressed his excitement towards the new announcement.
As long-time fans of the entire Jurassic series we’re thrilled to be putting players in charge of their own Jurassic World. We’re excited to bring over fifteen years of management, simulation, and creature development expertise to a destination and franchise that remains an inspiration to us.
Jurassic World Evolution releases in Summer 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
