The NEOGEO X Gold Goes On Sale Tomorrow

December 17, 2012 by Matt Hawkins

3DS what? Vita who?

If you're looking to get a brand new gaming handheld this Christmas, your choices are no longer just the 3DS and Vita. And no, I'm not counting the mountain of iOS and Android devices that are also available.

I'm only counting real deal gaming devices, ones that will appear to the sensibilities of dedicated, hardcore gamers. And perhaps nothing will fit that bill more than the NEOGEO X.

The special edition Gold Limited Edition goes on sale tomorrow. It will be available online from various retailers. Including Amazon, Walmart, and Gamestop, in both North America and Europe.

The $199 package includes the base handheld system, which sports a 4.3 inch LCD screen, along with a housing station that not only charges the NEO GEO X but also connects it to one's television set plus allows one to use an arcade stick.

The housing itself, plus the stick, mirrors what the original Neo Geo home system used to look like. Furthermore, in addition to the 20 pre-loaded games that's part of the default package, the Gold Limited Edition also includes a SD card that contains Ninja Master.
