Team Meat (i.e. Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes, creators of Super Meat Boy) has a new blog post about upcoming game Mew-Genics, which finally provides some vague and confusing details about how the game will actually play. This week's teaser is an image from the game that shows a “Trinket Display Case”. We're told:
As you play Mew-Genics stuff will appear.. "stuff" meaning food, poop, barf, kittens, mail… etc. this stuff is quite common of course… but did you know that sometimes these things appear imbued with magic properties that change space and time?! well its true!
So the Trinket Display Case is essentially an inventory system for storing these objects that are found throughout the game. One slot is for an active item; in the image shown the current active item is “The Petrified Poop”. According to the tiny writing underneath it, this item “slightly lowers damage taken” and “lowers poop rate of all cats”. It's not made clear what exactly a poop rate is or what it affects in the game itself, but the prospect of lowering damage taken suggests either the cats or any other playable characters will take part in combat.
Any thoughts on what this game will entail, now that we've been shown this Trinket Display Case?
