Four Belmonts Grace the Box Artwork for Castlevania: Mirror of Fate

December 11, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

The sins of the fathers.

Mirror of Fate

Konami has just revealed the official box art for their upcoming Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate. Not to be confused with Lords of Shadow 2, Mirror of Fate is exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS and is set for a March 8 release next year. The artwork was published via the company's official Twitter account for the game.

The game, which was originally planned for a Fall 2012 release is the first title in the Castlevania series to use full stereographic 3D. In spite of its graphical dimensions, it will be confined to 2.5D in most areas, and use a combat system similar to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

Like the original Castlevania games, it will offer a tighter focus on exploration instead of linear story dungeons. The story itself is split between four characters across different time periods and the events will lead up to the upcoming Lords of Shadow 2, also planned for release next year.

Players take on the role of Trevor Belmont and the rest of Gabriel’s ancestors, who must set out to play their parts in defeating Dracula.

Fans of the series will defnitely want to pick this one up ahead of Lords of Shadow 2.
