The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Getting Unofficial Co-Op Mode?

Jul 24, 2017 Katrina Filippidis

Mod of the wild.

Most The Legend of Zelda games are singleplayer adventures, with the exceptions of Four Swords, Triforce Heroes and Hyrule Warriors. The focus is on Link. He masters abilities and collects items to defeat a barrage of baddies on the way to his destiny. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is singleplayer through and through, but one NeoGAF user has found a way to get two players in on the action.

NeoGAF user Blam explained a two-player local co-op mode was being constructed in the REGN8 Discord server. The modder, Fooni, has revealed the mod will likely take one year to complete—or at the very least, reach a playable state. To make it work, Fooni changes the location of an NPC and model swaps the character to Link. If successful, the mod will let two players enjoy Breath of the Wild side by side.

What do you think about Breath of the Wild co-op? Would it work on the go like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
