Gran Turismo 5 Adds Corvette C7 Test Prototype as Free DLC

November 29, 2012 by Alex Co

Polyphony will let you drive the still-in-development Corvette C7 in Gran Turismo 5!

For weeks, Sony has been teasing Gran Turismo fans with the mysterious appearance of a camouflaged Corvette C7 appearing in Gran Turismo 5's screen saver.

Now, the publisher officially confirms that the car will be available as a free DLC for Gran Turismo 5 starting today. Announced at the L.A. Auto Show, Chevrolet and Polyphony Digital have been working closely for months now in developing an exclusive first-hand driving experience by offering the camouflaged Corvette C7 Test Prototype for use in GT5.

Here's your first look at the mean machine.

If you're wondering why it looks like it has something covering it up, it's because it has. Since according to Sony's blog post, spy photos of the car are now valued at $100,000, Chevrolet has gone to extreme measures to disguise the test car.

For those loaded with cash, Chevrolet will unveil the 2014 Corvette on Sunday, January 13, 2013. For more info, you can check out the car's website here. However, for us mere mortals, we'll just have to be happy driving the car in Gran Turismo 5.
