Psyonix Willing to Do Whatever it Takes From Their End to Enable Cross-Network Play

Cross-network play is always a request within the gaming industry, but it seems to be more complicated than we think. Psyonix has been one of the first developers to request cross-network play to be implemented and tried their hardest to get approvals from Sony and Microsoft with no success.

Psyonix’s Jeremy Dunham was featured in a recent interview with Polygon, where he revealed that “PlayStation has not yet granted us permission.” However, Dunham made it very clear he is willing to do everything it takes from his end to make it work if Sony and Microsoft are willing to co-operate.

I wish I had the answer to that. The only thing that we know is that we can’t do it yet. I can tell you this: From Psyonix, we would do whatever we would need to do to make it possible to be cross-network play with all the other platforms and PlayStation 4. They just need to tell us what that is.

According to Dunham, all they currently need is the approval and everybody will be playing each other in “less than an hour.”

All we have to do is check that box and it would be up and running in less than an hour all over the world. That’s all we need to do.

Do you think it’s a good idea to enable cross-network play across consoles?
