Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Is iOS And Android Bound

November 21, 2012 by Matt Hawkins

What many consider to be the best of the three GTA 3s is coming December 6

Last year, Rockstar celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto 3 with a port for iOS devices, with another for Android shortly thereafter. And one year later, it's time for another birthday party: the 10 year anniversary of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Opinions vary, but of the three GTA 3s that were originally released for the PS2, many still favor the second helping the most. True, the third take, San Andreas, was the biggest in scale and scope. But many still favor the late 80's Miami vibe and the very Scarface-esque proceedings.

Plus it was the first GTA to feature licensed music, which would become a staple of the series moving forward, and helped to strength Rockstar's image as not just a video game publisher but a pop culture powerhouse.

The upcoming mobile version is schedule for December 6th, for both platforms. The game promised to sport updated character models, enhanced lighting, and tighter controls. Here's a full list of supported devices:
