Uncharted: Fight for Fortune Officially Announced for PS Vita

November 19, 2012 by Alex Co

There’s a new Uncharted game coming to the PS Vita later this year! Although it might not be what you’re expecting.

Chris Reese, technical director at Sony Bend, has officially announced Uncharted: Fight for Fortune for the PS Vita on the Official PlayStation Blog.

Fight for Fortune won't be your standard Uncharted affair. It will, instead, be an action-adventure turn-based card game featuring the heroes and villains from the franchise.

Here's what Reese has to say regarding the title's gameplay and how it works. I mean, it's not everyday we hear of a franchise getting the card game treatment, right?

The core gameplay in UNCHARTED: Fight for Fortune involves creating a team of Faction cards featuring heroes, villains, and mercenaries from the UNCHARTED universe, then using that team to defeat your opponent while defending yourself from their attacks.

Each Faction card can be equipped with powerful Resource and valuable Fortune cards, which enhance their stats and give them special abilities. Once you’ve selected and equipped a card, it’s time to head into battle! During combat, attacks either reduce the health of opposing Faction cards or the health of your opponent. Defeating an opposing Faction card removes it from play, while reducing the health of your opponent to zero wins you the game.

You can see how the game is in action by watching the official trailer.

Also of note, Sony Bend will also be releasing a patch for Uncharted: Golden Abyss that will power up the artifacts players have collected for immediate use in Fight for Fortune.

Uncharted: Fight for Fortune will be out on December 4 for $4.99 on the PS Vita. For those wondering, you won't need Golden Abyss to play the game. So that $4.99 is the title's standalone price.

Anyone excited for this — especially seeing that Golden Abyss will soon be free for PS+ members?
