A post on the Overwatch blog is hinting that another hero may soon be joining the action. Atlas News, the fictional in-game news outlet revlealed that The Horizon Lunar Colony, which was once thought to be offline, is in fact up and running. Several interpersonnel logs were retrieved and shared, straight to Winston’s inbox.
The messages discuss gorillas that have undergone genetic manipulation, which might lead many fans to assume that the next Overwatch hero might be a gorilla. Blizzard’s Jeff Kaplan commented on the introduction of a new character last month, stressing that development was in advanced stages and all its abilities were finalised. It’s very likely this new hero could be Hammond, a gorilla who escaped his cage (and further genetic therapy). Towards the end of the message exchange, it becomes apparent that both Hammond (Specimen 8) Winston (Specimen 28) are no longer on the tracking radar.
Orisa is the latest Overwatch hero, a tank and “central anchor of her team”. Her character went live at the end of March.
