Zynga’s Using Reality Television Show To Hire New Talent

November 12, 2012 by Matt Hawkins

If you want to become their brand new associate game designer, you’ll have to go through the process on network television.

It goes without saying that Zynga is the gaming world's favorite punching bag. They create games no one likes, they shamelessly steal ideas, they treat their employees like garbage, they lie about how popular their titles are, and best of all, their stock is pretty much worthless these days, thanks to everything above coming to light in the end.

One would think that it might be virtually impossible to stoop to a brand new low, but never underestimate the creators of FarmVille, because they just found a way: they plan on using a reality TV show to hire a brand new employee.

The program in question is The Job, which is slated to appear on CBS. According to Games.com, casting took place recently in both San Francisco and New York for a number of roles. One of which is listed as "Associate Game Designer for popular gaming company". A leaked NDA reveals that it's for a position at Zynga's SF office.

The source also reminds everyone that this isn’t the first time that Zynga has worked with CBS, which includes a game show based upon Draw Something that is also currently in production.

Some might recall how Zynga recently fired a large percentage of its employees during Apple’s iPad Mini unveil, in hopes that no one would notice. It goes without saying that having a hiring process that’s almost equally flippant in manner is hardly shocking at this point.
