The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy Dev Teases “Secret Proejct,” With “Amazing Controls”

Developer Edmund McMillen and programmer Tyler Glaiel, most known for The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy, have been working on a “secret project” next to the scheduled update for The Binding of Isaac.

The developer revealed in a blog post the new booster content coming to The Binding of Isaac, as well as explaining why they weren’t successful in releasing booster content every month as promised. Later on in the post, McMillen reveals that he and Glaiel have been working on a new game that is “coming close” to announcement as well as getting an official release date.

He briefly discusses some of its features, describing the game as “hard,” “weird,” “personal” and “one of the largest games” he has made. Most importantly though, it’s a new IP for the studio.

On a side note, not many of you know this, but Tyler and I have been in crunch mode for the past 3 months trying to finish this secret project. We are coming close to announcing it and its release date, so keep and eye out for it, I don’t want to spoil the fun yet but I can say this.

It’s hard, it’s weird, it’s personal, it has amazing controls, it’s a totally new unannounced IP and its easily one of the largest games I’ve ever made level wise.

Are you excited for this new game?
