CD Projekt RED is preparing itself for their first official Gwent: The Witcher Card Game competitive tournament, with an impressive prize pool of $100,000.
The developer released the competitive tournament’s format and rules:
-Players must create four decks with no two being from the same faction
-Each player will ban one of their opponents decks in secret
-The players will then choose one their remaining three decks to use for their first match
-Winning decks cannot be used to play another match while losing ones may be used again or swapped out for other matches
-Matches are played in a best-of-five format meaning that to defeat an opponent players must use each of their three decks a single time
-The final will see the top eight players compete in a single elimination format with victors playing on until a grand prize winner is determined
In addition to that, CD Projekt RED released a short trailer explaining some of the points mentioned above. Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is currently available in open beta on Xbox One and PC. Make sure to let us know how do you do in the tournament.
