First-person adventure Empathy: Path of Whispers now has an official release date, developer Pixel Night has confirmed. Set in a strange, pre-apocalyptic world powered by emotions and memories, it tasks players with meandering through bizarre locations, solving puzzles, and figuring out what sparked the descent into desolation.
The game’s unique narrative mechanics allow players to use lost memories, stitch the world back together, and prevent reality itself from disappearing. Some of the main gameplay features are as follows:
- Discover and explore other peoples’ memories in order to change the world around you, solve puzzles and access new areas.
- Traverse a strange world and uncover what triggered the silent apocalypse.
- Follow a narrative as it develops, interwoven with your exploration.
- Experience the story through multiple first person perspectives and use your wits to piece the events together.
Empathy: Path of Whispers is due to launch on May 16 via Steam (PC). A launch trailer has been released in advance, giving players a glimpse into the mindset of the troubled protagonist.
