The Banner Saga and Overcooked publisher, Sold Out, has joined forces with Frontier Developments to start production of retail versions of Elite: Dangerous, titled Elite: Dangerous Legendary Edition. The Legendary Edition is supposed to come out some time later this year for Xbox One and PS4 consoles. It will reportedly include the Horizons expansion as well as 1,000 Frontier points to get you started.
Earlier, the studio detailed some of the features they plan on implementing to take advantage of the PlayStation 4 controller unique design and its touch-pad, such as being able to traverse the universe’s map using the touchpad as well as other innovative controls.
- Touch Navigation – Explore Elite Dangerous’ map of the Milky Way with a swipe using touch pad controls that make navigation fast and easy.
- Extra Control – Customize four additional touchpad ‘hotkeys’ to suit your own play style.
- Fast Headlook – Quickly track your enemies in the heat of combat with optional motion-based headlook controls powered by the DualShock 4 wireless controller.
As of the time of writing, there is yet to be an official release date for the boxed version.
