The marketing lead for BioWare's Mass Effect and Dragon Age Jarret Lee has tweeted the boxart for the Mass Effect Trilogy. You can see it below in all its glory.
Up till now we'd only seen it in the small picture on the site. As previously confirmed, it does not feature FemShep (which angered many fans), only "John Shepard" and takes clips from each of the three game's separate box art.
All three titles are included in the set touted to be "the definitive Mass Effect Experience" and comes with a premium foil box and "exclusive artwork". The set ironically would be best suited for PlayStation 3 or future Wii U players, as the original game is not currently available on the PlayStation 3, and the first two games are not going to be available on the Wii U anytime soon. Yet these are the two systems that are not getting it, at least right away.
The PS3's launch date is still unknown, despite attempts to try and gather more information from Lee. However we do know that the original Mass Effect will also be finally available as a standalone game for $14.99 on the PlayStation Network "the same day as the Mass Effect trilogy" releases on the PS3.
There has been no Wii U version mentioned at all, but there has been concerns of how new players will be able to get into the series so late in the trilogy, as Mass Effect 3 will launch when the Wii U launches. We'll keep you updated on a release date for the trilogy on the PlayStation 3 as soon as we have it.
