Amazon.de currently lists a 60-euro (£48.22 at today's exchange rate) Premium Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, to be released (in Germany, at least) on the 7th of December. While there's no mention of DLC, the set does include a copy of the game on PS3, 360, or PC, a nifty grey tee shirt (unfortunately, though pragmatically, in a large), an Elder Scrolls novel called Hell City (Die Höllenstadt), six art cards, and a bonus disc featuring all sorts of audiovisual content. It's almost enough to make me want to trade in my buggy, DLC-less PS3 copy and spring for a shiny, limited edition one like this on the 360 instead. Maybe if the tee shirt was the right size, and they threw in some DLC or a hardback guidebook.
There are some games that are known to consume players such that they play nothing else for weeks, months, even years, and Skryim – with its huge, open world and radiant quest system – definitely has a little of that going on. That's why the publishers of these kinds of games release frequent DLC or expansion packs (think The Sims), or special editions like this one, to keep the money rolling in. With its projected release of early December, at least you'll know what to get for that diehard Skyrim fan in your family.
