SwitchCharge May Offer An Extended Battery For Your Nintendo Switch

April 5, 2017 by Dennis Patrick

Extend the Nintendo Switch battery by twelve hours.

When it comes to the Nintendo Switch, the console has been well received by gamers and critics. This console hybrid allows gamers to enjoy their video games on their home television or taken and enjoyed on-the-go. With that said, there is a major downside in battery life as you won’t be gaming for hours on end with the Switch being used as a portable handheld.

The Nintendo Switch fails at delivering gamers with a console that can really pack a punch in terms of longevity when being used on-the-go. Overall, the console, as is, will give gamers about three solid hours of gameplay if being used to play a more graphically intense video game.

It wasn’t long since the console released that manufacturers are taking a stab at fixing this issue, with the latest being InDemand Design. This United Kingdom company has appeared on Indiegogo to showcase their upcoming project, the SwitchCharge.

This is a device that connects your Nintendo Switch and acts as an extended battery case offering an additional twelve hours of battery life. Of course, without being tested, we’re unsure just how long the extended battery will actually play out within a real world environment.

Outside of just being an extended battery, the SwitchCharge will also offer additional game slots to hold cartridges not being used, an improved kickstand, and a side port so that the Switch can be charged while also allowing gamers to access the kickstand without necessarily connecting the console to the official dock.

Currently, the project still has a month left to receive its goal of $80,000 where the InDemand Design’s have already raised $39,000 at the time of writing this. By spending $75 towards the project, gamers will receive a SwitchCharge unit which will be 43% off the intended price point once released into the market.
