Blizzard wins $8.5 Million Against Bossland Cheat Maker

German cheat maker forced to pay over damages.

A Californian courted has granted Blizzard autonomy to make a judgement against Bossland, a german bot maker who created a cheat engine which gives players an unfair advantage in Blizzard Games such as World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Hearthstone.

The ruling comes after a German court granted Blizzard victory against Bossland, the German court stated that bots damage the game for legitimate players by providing an unfair advantage.

The Californian court awarded Blizzard a total of $8.7 million, which includes:

  • Non-punitive, statutory damages – $8.5 million
  • Attorneys’ fees – $174,872
  • The costs of suit – $1,763
