Persona 4 Golden States Its Best Case Yet

October 24, 2012 by Matt Hawkins

Arguable one of the best PS2 games of all time is soon set to become one of the best Vita games as well.

Most PlayStation Vita owners are a mix of emotions. On one hand, they are proud to possess one of the finest handheld systems every put together. But on the other hand, they are also saddened that the platform hasn't taken off.

Furthermore, the long-term health of the system is in serious question, especially given how there aren't too many games to look forward to at the moment, along with Sony's resistance towards lowering the price.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it's called Persona 4: Golden. To say that the upcoming Vita port of one of the finest PS2 titles and JRPGs in recent memory is hotly anticipated is a massive understatement.

A significant portion of Vita owners out there purchased the system with P4: Golden in mind, and it is also expected to move even more systems once the game finally arrives next month, November 20th. After all, that's exactly what happened in Japan; its release saw a massive spike in system interest and sales over the summer, where it's also been having a rough time.

The just released launch trailer, below, shows what diehard fans have been chomping at the bits over: it's mostly the same game that everyone knows and loves, with some tastefully applied enhancements. Including new animated sequences, new in-game environments, a brand new character to date, plus the ability to bring motor scooters into a fight.

The one thing that's not fully featured is the replacement voice talent; the original actors were not available to reprise their roles. But we know already, from the recently released fighting game for the Xbox 360 and PS3) that they do a fine job, and in some people's opinions, are superior to their originals.
