The FIFA franchise has gone from a game that was huge because of the de facto effect of its numerous licenses to a title that stands tall thanks to its own abilities. FIFA 15 takes the series into a whole other level with gameplay that betters the surmounting hype that threatened to engulf it. Playing it makes me believe I can do just about anything with the ball at my feet, and this self-assurance is powerful. If you have the desire, FIFA 15 meets the challenge. It does not disappoint.

Feel the game" is the advertising slogan this year. At first it sounds like another meaningless phrase spun by marketing men, but the more you play FIFA 15 the more it makes sense. The new stadia, the remodeled players, the live news feeds, the ultra-slow replays of crunching tackles – FIFA 15 feels more like football than ever.

As for the future, it’s really hard to say. Every year I wonder how EA Canada can make material improvements without breaking the game and cooking their golden goose, but every year they manage to surprise me, as they’ve done with FIFA 15. It’s for that reason that FIFA remains secure in its position as the best all-around sports sim, and should remain at the top of the heap for the forseeable future.
