Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Edit Your Palico’s Appearance

March 23, 2025 by Matt Villei

A new look for your furry companion.

The Palico companion makes its return in Monster Hunter Wilds and will stand by the side of their Hunters through thick and thin. When players start a new game, they get to create and name their very own Palico. While you aren’t able to change their name after the opening of the game, there is a way to make changes and edits to their appearance that go beyond the simple changes to armor and weapons that come with hunting monsters. Players that follow these steps will be able to change the look of their furry friend. This guide will show players how to edit their Palico’s appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to Edit Your Palico’s Appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds

You can edit your Palico’s appearance by going into a tent. There are several tents that you can visit throughout Monster Hunter Wilds with the base camp of each region having one. Once inside the tent, toggle over to the Appearance Menu. This is the tab all the way on the right end of the bar shown on the left side of the screen. Select “Change Appearance.”

You also have the choice to edit your character from the main menu. Select the “Start Game” option and when you reach the save files, look at the bottom of the screen and press the button next to “Edit Character.” You can then select the Palico option in the menu to open up the character creator, which will allow you to make any changes you want to the looks of your hunting companion.

In this menu, you can edit everything about your Palico including its fur style and color as well as things like markings and whether or not it speaks its Felyne language. Unfortunately, you can’t just go into this menu and make any change you want. You will first need to get your hands on a Palico Edit Voucher, an item that will allow you to make changes to your Palico. You can get one Voucher for free but will need to purchase more Vouchers through microtransactions if you want more of them. More free Vouchers will be added during the game’s lifespan so keep an eye out for them in the future!

You can now edit your Palico’s appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds. Stay tuned to Gameranx for more news, updates, and guides for Monster Hunter Wilds as well as other great games in the future.
