After some new fighting games to get through? Get ready to duke it out in 2025. In this list, we will highlight some of our most anticipated games coming out in the 2025 calendar year. Don’t look at these games in a particularly ranked order. Instead, these are just some games we can’t wait to get our hands on.

#3 2XKO

Given how Riot Games has done everything in its power to expand its MOBA game’s universe within the gaming space, it shouldn’t be too surprising that it wanted to make a fighting game featuring its characters. After all, when you have a roster of characters that deep, how do you not make a fighting game?

2XKO is that game, and while things are still in development currently, it’s aiming to be one of the most unique fighting games out there due to it featuring two players controlling their characters at the same time while on a more fighting game-esque battle screen.

We’ll see if Riot Games can pull this one off.

#2 Capcom Fighting Collection 2

2024 was a big year for nostalgia, whether you liked it or not, but one of the key releases was Capcom coming through in the clutch to bring back its crossovers with Marvel and put numerous classic games into one collection for modern consoles. It was such a hit that they didn’t even wait that long before announcing the Capcom Fighting Collection 2!

So, what’s the difference between that one and this one? The name should be a giveaway, but this second collection features multiple titles from Capcom’s crossovers with SNK while also featuring numerous SNK games!

When the collection drops, you’ll have many fights ahead of you!

#1 FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves

The fighting game genre has had numerous series that have influenced future franchises many times over, but one particular series has been “lost in the shuffle” for over two decades. However, in 2025, everything returns to South Town, and FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves will show you what some of the best fighters around have been up to since their last game!

Aside from continuing the story that started in the 90s, the team is determined to up the ante and add brand-new fighting mechanics to make its battle system both layered and simple to use.

Plus, it may have a crossover character via Cristiano Ronaldo. Why? Because they can!
