The Best Gaming Podcast Ever: Episode 13

November 3, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

In this week’s episode we talk about the E-Parasite Act that’s slated to make YouTube illegal. It’s big.

Welcome to another fine episode of The Best Gaming Podcast Ever. This time around, we approach the subject of the E-PARASITE Act, which is a kind of Frankenstein's monster that combines Bill S.978 with a whole mess of other legalities that would illegalize streaming online videos containing copyrighted material.

The bill would effectively be used to censor YouTube, Twitter, and other social networks where the host is forced to take responsibility over any and all material uploaded or shared therein. The idea behind the law is to create a two-tiered internet, which forces users to pay licensing fees and effectively stifles net neutrality.

We also talk about how Nintendo's money printing machines have shut down, the defense of icky speech, Occupy Wall Street, and Grand Theft Auto V. This episode is without a doubt loaded with interesting discussions.

The song this week is Dynamite Punch by Mark Dago. Be sure to check out his stuff. It's rad.
