How To Get an Island Sanctuary in Final Fantasy 14

August 23, 2022 by Jessica Thomas

Here is how to unlock the Island Sanctuary in Final Fantasy 14.

Final Fantasy 14 finally introduced the highly anticipated Island Sanctuary feature in version 6.2. If you are looking at getting your very own piece of paradise, though, then you need to know how to unlock it. While the process of unlocking the Island Sanctuary itself isn’t hard, getting there will take you quite a bit of time, depending on where you are in the story of the game.

Where to Unlock The Island Sanctuary in Final Fantasy 14

Unlocking the Island Sanctuary is a rather simple endeavor once you have met the requirements for the associated quest. Here is the simple process for unlocking the feature in your game.

  • Complete the main scenario of the Endwalker expansion.
  • Teleport to Old Sharlayan.
  • Go to coordinates: X:11.9, YY:11.0.
  • Speak with Clueless Crier to start the Seeking Sanctuary quest.
  • You will be teleported to your very own Island Sanctuary.

Once you are in your Island Sanctuary, you can start building the area up. As most new features go, once you first get to your Sanctuary, you will have a tutorial that teaches you how things work. Once you get through this, though, you will be free to work on your Island Sanctuary as you see fit.

Once you unlock the sanctuary once, you will be free to come and go as you wish. Keep in mind that this area isn’t a replacement for housing, and that not all of your minions will be able to be released in the area. You will no longer need to go to Old Sharlayan to get to the area.
